Empowering Your Child’s Unique Learning Journey

Supporting your child in navigating their unique learning style, excelling academically, and pursuing their passions while celebrating individual learning styles.

We embrace the diversity of learning styles and provide a tailored educational experience for every child. With smaller class sizes and a dedicated team of expert faculty, dedicated Learning Strategist, Sumar Deen, we’re equipped to address the specific needs of your child, ensuring they receive the support and attention they deserve.

Students engage in experiential and project-based learning, working individually and collaboratively, analytically and creatively, to bring academic “subject matter” to life. Our curriculum is carefully designed to support your child in every academic area. Students are equipped with essential tools and strategies to transform their distinct learning profile into academic confidence, social and emotional stability, and ultimately, remarkable academic success.

Students at Academe possess creativity, intelligence, and above all, a drive to succeed. Our school supports students who are working to manage challenges in reading (dyslexia), written expression (dysgraphia), areas of processing, neurodiversity, anxiety, executive function, or ADHD.

At Academe of the Oaks, we celebrate and champion the unique learning styles of our students, and we look forward to partnering with you on this educational journey.

Join us in providing your child with the tools they need to thrive academically and beyond. Schedule a tour of Atlanta’s leading private high school today!

“I believe that academic success looks different for each student. That’s why I strive to know them as a whole person– their past experiences, personality, and extracurricular life are equally important to their work in the classroom.

This holistic view is critical to supporting each individual student’s needs during their time at Academe.”

Sumar Deen received her B.S. in Psychology and B.A. in Spanish from University of Georgia. She went on to obtain a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University. She is currently in the process of obtaining her Associate Professional Counseling License (A.P.C.), and will be pursuing licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (L.P.C.) through postgraduate counseling supervision. Sumar Deen was born in Nairobi, Kenya, moving to Decatur when she was five years old to start kindergarten. As part of her training to become a mental health counselor, Sumar returned to her alma mater to complete a year-long internship at the Decatur High School Student Center. In her work there, she discovered her passion for counseling with teens by providing individual counseling to students, conducting group counseling sessions for students and parents, and providing psychoeducation in classroom and small-group settings.
