The students are very engaged in our Current Events J-Term class. Current Events is providing students the opportunity to discuss, understand, and explore local, national, international, political, economic, and social issues in a respectful, meaningful, and active way. During J-Term, students stay up to date on current issues and trends such as: the Election Process in the US, Refugee Crisis and exploring Race, Bias, and Identify. Last week, the students had a guest speaker Dr. Kyler J. Sherman-Wilkins an Assistant Professor at Missouri State University-Department of Sociology and Anthropology. Dr. Sherman-Wilkins explored more in depth race, bias and identity with students.
