A native of Hong Kong, Mr. Tong began his musical journey at eight years old, studying violin and piano. He holds degrees in music education and music performance from Kennesaw State University, and was a KSU concerto competition finalist from 2014 to 2017. Mr. Tong holds a master’s degree in orchestral conducting from Georgia State University and currently serves as Artistic Director of the Atlanta Metropolitan Symphony.

Mr. Tong has performed since 2009 with Atlanta VariAsians a cappella; the group’s recordings are available on CD and on YouTube. He has performed and taught throughout the metropolitan Atlanta area.

Mr. Tong directs the String Ensemble at Academe of the Oaks.
